Jameson Taillon and Stetson Allie are officially Pittsburgh Pirates. The two high-school studs are expected to bring the black and gold back to prominence thanks to their dominant fastballs. Both have clocked above 98 mph and were projected first round picks. Allie is thought to have dropped into the second round because of the huge signing bonus he required and Taillon would have been the first overall pick in many years according to many.
Taillon is suspected to have signed for around $5 million while Allie received a signing bonus of $2.25 million. Between the past two drafts the Pirates have now spent over $18 million–tops in the MLB. For a complete review of both players check out my Pirates draft article.
